Glynn Phillips

Glynn was appointed Group Managing Director in January 2020. He leads the £2.7bn Maritime and Land UK Sector, with responsibility for c.17,000 employees.

Prior to his appointment to the Maritime Board in February 2018, Glynn spent three years as Chief Executive Officer of BAE Systems in Australia. During this period Glynn successfully lead a restructuring of the Australian business to restore its competitiveness, stakeholder relationships and subsequently grow the business order book.

Glynn originally qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant. His career in BAE Systems has encompassed multiple senior finance leadership roles throughout the UK, including Finance Director for the Hawk business, International Military Aircraft business, Integrated Systems, Naval Ships and latterly for the UK Maritime Sector (covering Ships, Submarines and Services). Glynn also spent over three years as Group Financial Controller for BAE Systems PLC.
