Jonny Bourne Obe

Jonny Bourne OBE has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Jonny currently serves as the VP Global Strategic Marketing & Engagement at DataStax, a company specializing in real-time AI and data mobilization. Prior to this, they were the CEO Middle East at Cognita Schools, where they oversaw the operations and development of schools across 11 countries. Jonny also served as the Interim CEO Prodrive International at Mumtalakat and played a key role in the turnaround and management of Interserve Saudi Arabia's international learning and education business.

Before their roles in the education and private sectors, Jonny Bourne had a distinguished military career. Jonny served as the Commander (CEO) of 7th Infantry Brigade (The Desert Rats) in the British Army, where they were responsible for overseeing military operations and leading organizational transformation. Jonny also served as the Army Chief Operating Officer (Director Army Plans), overseeing strategy, operations, transformation, and risk management for the British Army. Additionally, they held leadership positions within the UK Ministry of Defence, including Director of Army Finance and Capability Strategy and Director Defence Board Capability Consultant.

Throughout their career, Jonny Bourne has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills in diverse sectors, including education, military, and government defense.

Jonny Bourne OBE has an extensive education history. Jonny attended Sevenoaks School from 1979 to 1984, where they obtained A levels in English, History, and Economics. Jonny then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in History and Politics from Durham University, graduating in 1988. In 1997-1998, they attended Cranfield School of Management and earned a Master of Arts degree in Defence Technology.

In 2006-2007, Bourne pursued further education at the University of Cambridge, where they obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in International Relations. In 2014, they participated in the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

In addition to their formal education, Bourne has acquired certifications from City & Guilds, becoming a member, and the Chartered Management Institute, where they earned a Level 8 Diploma in Direction and Leadership and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.

Bourne has also received honors from the British monarchy. Jonny is a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), both bestowed by HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN.
