Luiz Vasconcelos

SVP & President, Latin America & Caribbean - FedEx Express at FedEx

As President of LAC, overseeing 50 countries and territories, Luiz will build on the legacy of outgoing Regional President Juan N. Cento as we continue to expand into new opportunities in e-commerce, international, and domestic in this fast-growing region. He will be responsible for the development of strategies relative to the appropriate products and services, establishing and growing profitable market share, and managing an effective and efficient operation to maximize shareholder value within the region. Luiz will also have direct responsibility for Operations, Planning & Engineering, Sales, Customer Experience, Marketing & Communications, and Human Resources and with matrix responsibility for Finance, Legal, and IT. He will ensure long- and short- term strategies of the division are aligned with the Global FedEx Express Strategies and the FedEx Corporate Objectives.

Luiz is currently the Vice President of Operations for FedEx Express in Brazil, a position he has held since 2018. His responsibilities include leading the company's planning and strategic definitions as well as overseeing all Brazilian operations including logistics, ground, air, and international transportation services. He first joined the FedEx team in 2012 as the finance Managing Director for Brazil and the South Cone. Luiz is a two-time winner of the Five Star Award, the most prestigious recognition at FedEx.

Prior to joining FedEx, Luiz worked at Rapidão Cometa, a company acquired by FedEx in 2012. He also held various leadership positions in M&A at Ernst & Young and Versailles Group in Boston, MA.

Luiz holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Pernambuco. He holds a specialization course in finance from Harvard University Extension School and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He will relocate with his wife, Patricia, and his two sons to Miami, FL.
