Jacinth Smiley

EVP, CFO at Hormel Foods

Jacinth Smiley is executive vice president and chief financial officer for Hormel Foods. Smiley leads all financial areas of Hormel Foods Corporation including accounting, information technology, internal audit, investor relations and treasury.

Smiley joined Hormel Foods in April 2021 as group vice president of corporate strategy, with 25+ years of global experience as an accomplished senior finance executive and Certified Public Accountant. Previously, Smiley was vice president and chief accounting officer for LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB), one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world. She assumed her current role in October 2021.

Smiley spent twenty years with General Electric (GE) in various senior Finance roles across multiple industries within GE Capital and GE’s industrial businesses, including chief financial officer, global controller, integration leader, director of financial planning & analysis, and transformation leader.

She started her career at Arthur Andersen in the audit function, auditing clients across multiple industries before joining the corporate audit staff of United Technologies, where she performed operations and financial audits across the USA, Europe, Middle East and Asia and subsequently became the finance manager of United Technologies’ Regional Treasury Center in the United Kingdom.

She currently volunteers/leads initiatives to support the schools she attended and parish in which she grew up in Jamaica as a member and Treasurer of the St. Thomas Renaissance Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to bring economic development to the parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica. She also serves on the board of directors for Shelters to Shutters, a non-profit organization focused on ending situational homelessness.

Smiley graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
