Mark Chapman

CLO at Nationwide Building Society

Mark Chapman is the current Chief Legal Officer at Nationwide Building Society. Prior to this, they served as the General Counsel for Barclays UK from December 2010 to March 2017. Before that, they were the European General Counsel for Nomura International from April 2000 to September 2010. Mark began their career as a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in March 1991 and remained there until April 2000. During their time at Freshfields, they undertook two 12-month secondments, the first to the Office of Legal Affairs at the United Nations in New York and the second to the Dispute Resolution Department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York.

Mark Chapman completed their Law Society Finals at the College of Law in Guildford. Mark then went on to study for their LLB (Hons) at the University of Bristol.
