Lameck Wayayi

Lameck Wayayi is the current Head of Talent Acquisition at Sendy. Prior to this, they worked as the Lead for Talent Acquisition (HR Transformation) - Africa at M-PESA Africa from October 2020 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for the talent acquisition strategy, employer branding, succession planning, compliance and market intelligence, and onboarding for 6 different markets including Kenya, Ghana, DRC, Lesotho, South Africa, and Mozambique.

Under their leadership, the company achieved a 50% succession cover for the executive committee and critical roles, designed an employer value proposition, and signed off on talent acquisition strategy and onboarding across 6 markets. Lameck also participated as a Scrum Master in transforming the organization into 100% Agile target operating model - implementation in progress.

Lameck Wayayi has a wide range of educational experience, from high school all the way up to professional certifications. Lameck attended St. Mary's School, Yala for their high school diploma and then went on to Moi University for their Bachelor's degree in Physics. After that, they completed a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Marble ICT College. Lameck then decided to pursue a Master's degree in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Lastly, they obtained their Certified Human Resource Professional certification from the College of Human Resource Management. In addition to their academic qualifications, Lameck also has various certifications from LinkedIn in areas such as Developing Resilience and Grit, Administrative Human Resources, Communicating with Empathy, HR as a Business Partner, Human Resources Foundations, Motivating and Engaging Employees, Succession Planning, Building Resilience, and Communicating in Times of Change.

Lameck Wayayi reports to Nyambura Karita, COO. Marietha Lugwe - Talent Acquisition lead, Evans Kaburu - Talent Acquisition lead report to Lameck Wayayi. They work with Eunice Murage - Risk & Compliance Manager, Peris Mumbi - Head of People and Culture, and Rose Kariuki - Legal Associate.
