Julie Ann Rivers-Cochran, MSW has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of nonprofit management and domestic violence advocacy. Julie Ann is currently the Executive Director of The Army of Survivors, a position they have held since February 2021. Prior to this, Julie served as the President of Blackbird Consulting for Nonprofits, LLC starting from February 2017, where they offered tailored training and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations on various management issues.

Julie also worked as the Project Director for the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma & Mental Health from October 2017 to February 2021. In this role, they oversaw the OVC-funded initiative aimed at enhancing access to victim services for individuals experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault while living with a serious mental illness.

Before joining the National Center, Julie held the position of V.P. of Programs and Planning at the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence from January 2004 to July 2016. In this role, they provided technical assistance and training to organizations in the areas of domestic and sexual violence, intervention and prevention of intimate partner violence, and disaster preparedness. Julie Ann also played a key role in the growth and development of the program department, increasing the staff from five to over 25 individuals.
