The team that would go on to found Unity Technologies had a long history in the game industry before they ever created Unity. The team's CTO, Joachim Ante, worked as the CTO at OverTheEdgeEntertainment and later at Unity Technologies. Ante's team was responsible for creating the Unity engine, which would become the basis for Unity Technologies.
