Chief Sustainability Officer at Verisk Analytics

Patrick McLaughlin is Verisk’s chief sustainability officer. He’s the principal architect of Verisk’s corporate social responsibility program, which helps ensure that the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities align with our stakeholders’ expectations.

As CSO, Pat also responds to ESG-related assessments from customers and investors, leads the annual greenhouse gas emissions inventory, oversees charitable partnerships, and publishes Verisk’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report.

Pat’s career at Verisk began in regulatory affairs and includes experience in client relations and information systems, in addition to serving as special assistant for two of the company’s presidents. From 1996 to 2008, Pat led the financial and operational turnaround of Verisk’s national property services business, publishing first-ever public opinion research demonstrating how our municipal fire grading activities benefit communities throughout the nation.

In earlier positions, Pat practiced law with the former New York firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby and MacRae and worked as an elementary school teacher and coach.

Pat holds a JD cum laude from New York Law School and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.

Pat has broad experience as an active volunteer in the community and as a trustee for various not-for-profit organizations and schools. He’s also a steward of the Verisk Leadership Institute and regularly serves as a mentor for Verisk’s Leadership Excellence Program participants.
