Brian Roman

Chief Legal Officer at Viatris

Brian Roman is the Chief Legal Officer of Viatris. He has been with Viatris and its legacy company, Mylan, since 2003.

Brian is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience encompassing key legal and business activities supporting the company’s operations, portfolio and growth initiatives. He is currently responsible for oversight of Viatris’ global legal organization including securities, global contracts, labor and employment, global regulatory, business development, litigation and intellectual property, among other areas. He is also responsible for the compliance, security, information security and privacy functions at Viatris.

Brian was appointed Mylan’s Global General Counsel in 2017 following his service as the company’s Chief Administrative Officer, in which he oversaw the Human Relations, Compliance, Facilities, Security, Information Security and Privacy functions. He previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer; Vice President and General Counsel, North America; and Litigation Counsel.

Prior to joining Mylan, he was a Partner at Doepken Keevican & Weiss and began his career as an Associate Attorney at K&L Gates.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University at Buffalo Law School in Buffalo, New York.

He is a member of the Heinz History Center board of trustees and the Neville House Associates board of directors, both non-profit organizations.
