Derek Glover

Chief Quality Officer at Viatris

Derek Glover is the Chief Quality Officer of Viatris. He has been with Viatris and its legacy company, Mylan, since 1997 and was appointed to his current position in April 2024.

Derek is an expert Quality leader who has held key roles encompassing quality control, compliance, systems and quality assurance at the site, regional and global levels. He has also participated in various industry forums and actively partnered with regulators and special interest groups to shape policy and provide training on critical topics such as data integrity, laboratory controls and process validation.

He previously spent nearly five years as the company’s Head of Global Quality, with prior positions of increasing responsibility that included Head of Global Quality Systems, Compliance and Remediation; North America Head of Quality; and Site Head of Quality. He began his pharmaceutical career as a Quality Control Chemist.

Derek served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1993 and was deployed in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991.

Derek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and liberal arts (science concentration) from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. He also completed the Viatris Executive Leadership Academy at Harvard Business School.
