Carla Piñeyro Sublett joins IBM as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Courtesy of IBM.
Sublett is a proud immigrant, who the Hispanic Business Magazine named one of the "Top 50 Influential Hispanic," she was the president of the board of the Texas Conference for Women and the incoming chair of the Austin Community Foundation.
In a press release, IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna said, "I am very pleased to welcome Carla to IBM. She is a talented and seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience building world-class marketing teams and sales strategies. I am confident that she will play a key role in bringing the power of IBM's hybrid cloud and AI proposition to clients and driving our business forward."
Before joining IBM, Sublett served as the first Chief Marketing Officer at National Instruments (NI). She also held the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Portfolio Business unit at the company where she worked on rebranding.
From May 2015 to October 2017, Sublett was the Chief Marketing Officer of Rackspace, where she worked on a repositioning campaign, which led to a successful private equity sale. She spent over 15 years at Dell, holding multiple positions in sales, and was eventually promoted to Latin America's CMO.
