Apple, Google and Tesla Veteran Chris Lattner to Lead SiFive’s Platform Engineering Team
During his time at Google, he was credited for authoring Clang, the compiler front-end, and LLVM, the compiler infrastructure open source project.
Lattner worked at Apple for 10 years where he led the creation of Swift, the programming language used to build the current generation of iPhone and iPad.
SiFive is the first fabless semiconductor company to build customized silicon based on the free and open RISC-V instruction set architecture.
The company says that Lattner will bring increased customization and implementation tooling to SiFive System on the Chip design methodology.
