ChargePoint has selected Lisa Mulrooney Gross as Chief People Officer as the electric vehicle (EV) charging network looks to continue its expansion as the pace of electrification intensifies.

Her primary task will be to oversee the company’s HR team and ensure the scalability of ChargePoint’s culture and workforce. She will also launch talent initiatives to grow the company’s headcount around the world.

Over the past year, ChargePoint doubled its European workforce through two acquisitions, purchasing electric mobility startups has·to·be and ViriCiti for €250 million and €75 million respectively.

“Creating a single fueling platform that connects a network of independently owned e-mobility assets across two continents requires world-class talent capabilities,” ChargePoint CEO Pasquale Romano stated. “As the pace of electrification accelerates, Lisa will help scale our workforce and culture with talent initiatives to fuel our continued growth.”

Mulrooney Gross is a good candidate to help guide the company’s culture growth especially as the has·to·be and ViriCiti teams integrate into ChargePoint as she recently oversaw the People team at Fitbit during its $2.1 billion acquisition by Google.

Before she served as Fitbit’s SVP of People (and subsequently as the Head of HR for Fitbit at Google), Mulrooney Gross was the VP of HR for Bayer, giving her a wealth of experience operating a global HR team. She has also held senior HR roles at Applied Materials, Tyco, and GE Renewable Energy.

ChargePoint’s cloud subscription platform and software-defined charging hardware has so far delivered 98 million charging sessions across North America and Europe. This number is sure to grow as more electric vehicles hit the market and need access to common charging infrastructure.

Major automakers like Ford, Volkswagen, and GM as well as startups like Rivian and Faraday Future are bringing a wide assortment of EVs to market in the coming months and years.
