Peter Leav will take over as CEO and President of cybersecurity company McAfee on February 3, as current CEO Chris Young steps down.
Leav most recently served as President, CEO and a board member of BMC Software. He has also held previous leadership roles at Polycom, NCR Corporation and Motorola and currently sits on the board of directors at Box and Proofpoint.
Intel bought McAfee in 2011 and rebranded as Intel Security in 2014. McAfee split from Intel in early 2017 to become its own company again, and has since pivoted towards cloud services and worked to build out its platform with a focus on its enterprise product portfolio.
“I am delighted to be joining McAfee at this exciting time for the company and am looking forward to working with the team to pursue the significant growth opportunities ahead,” said Leav.
Jon Winkelried, Co-CEO of TPG and Chairman of McAfee commented, “Peter has exactly the right mix of experience and expertise to lead McAfee in its next phase of growth,”.
