Gillian Tans is stepping down as CEO of and Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings, will take on an expanded role that includes CEO of, effective immediately. Tans will instead become Chairwoman of the division. The shift ends a three-year stint as CEO at after she took over the reins from Darren Huston.

When Gillian joined in 2002, the company only had a small footprint in Amsterdam. Gillian is a passionate advocate for maintaining’s entrepreneurial culture and values, as well as for promoting opportunities for women leaders to grow and excel throughout the organisation. She was one of very few female CEOs in the online travel industry.

Tans was appointed CEO of in 2016. Prior to that, Tans served as's President and Chief Operating Officer, a role she was appointed to in 2011, as well as other positions at the helm of's global sales, operations, IT, content and customer care departments.
