Among Meyerdirk’s many priorities as the company’s new leader will be to expand its perscription service from 44 to all 50 US states by the end of the first quarter. She also plans to grow The Pill Club’s offerings beyond its focus on birth control and contraceptives into dermatology, according to TechCrunch.
In a blog post announcing her hire, Meyerdirk said, “It's a real privilege to join The Pill Club at an inflection point for the company and to lead this business into the future by continuing to build world-class products that ensure accessible women's health care for everyone—all while making this company one of the best places to work.”
Meyerdirk was a founding member of the Uber Eats team, where she spent almost six years leading strategy and global business development. Before she joined the ride hailing and food delivery titan, she was involved in a number of marketplace and healthcare technology businesses, however, she got her start in investment banking and venture capital investing.
The Pill Club has been growing quickly, at an annual rate of nearly 100% over the past two years. Last year the startup acheived several months of profitability and reached an annual run rate of $100 million in revenue for the first time.
Looking ahead, Meyerdirk stated, “Reproductive care has and continues to be an essential part of our business, but there are countless opportunities to serve women in all of their life stages from puberty to menopause. I believe that we're well-positioned for the opportunities in front of us, and I'm thrilled to partner with Nick and the team to continue transforming the standard of health care for women across the country.”
