Marriott Appoints Ex-Nike and Coke Executive as Chief Information and Digital Officer

Hotel giant Marriott International has announced the appointment of Jim Scholefield as Chief Information and Digital Officer, effective February 24.

Scholefield will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company's information technology and digital strategies.

Most recently, Scholefield was Chief Information and Digital Officer at pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. Prior to that he was the Chief Information Officer at Nike, and Chief Technology Officer at Coca-Cola.

Marriott's current Chief Information Officer, Bruce Hoffmeister, announced his decision to retire in September 2019, after 30 years with the company.

Scholefield will report to Stephanie Linnartz, Group President, Consumer Operations, Technology & Emerging Businesses.

"Jim will play a pivotal role in driving our technology modernization efforts as we embark on a new chapter in the company's technology journey to support our future growth, both within our core lodging business and new ventures," said Linnartz."
