Ogilvy has tapped HR veteran James Nicholas Kinney to be its Global Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and Chief People Officer for North America.
Kinney’s role at the global advertising juggernaut places him at the forefront of the company’s talent management, recruitment, development, and wellbeing programs in North America. When it comes to his efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion, he will partner with company leaders around the world to develop and evolve practices, policies, and programs that ensure Ogilvy has a strong culture of belonging.
He brings over 18 years of HR experience to his new roles at Ogilvy, including positions at Giant Spoon and his most position as the Chief Talent Officer at Mother. He has also launched Six Figure Jobs, an audio education company centered around work, jobs, and diversity, as well as Equify, an online diversity certification that is used across the marketing and entertainment industry. He has been featured on CNN, NBC Smart Money, and NASDAQ Disruptors and sits on the board of AIR Allies in Recruiting, collective of advertising and marketing industry recruiters who beleive in the sharing of knowledge and expertise to create diverse and equitable workforces.
Kinney’s HR style utilizes neuroscience, emotional intelligence, performance psychology, and innovative behavior-based practices to help organizations build authentic cultures. He has brought his style to over 30 companies as a consultant.
