Outdoor Voices’ founder and CEO Tyler Haney has stepped down, as first reported by Business of Fashion. At the time, the Austin-based company confirmed that Hany, who founded the athletics brand in 2013, would stay on with the company transitioning to a new position as "founder" and remain on the board. Since then, the company stated that Hany has "made a personal decision to resign from Outdoor Voices," according to TechCrunch.

Cliff Moskowitz, the president of New York City-based private equity firm InterLuxe, will serve as Outdoor Voices’ interim CEO while Outdoor Voices searches for a new chief executive, according to a company spokesperson.

Outdoor Voices has grown into a popular activewear brand among millennial women with the aim of providing a recreational alternative to more performance-oriented brands such as Nike and Under Armour.

The company has raised $64 million as of its last funding round in 2018. However, it struggled to raise more funding at the end of last year and was losing around $2 million a month in 2019, with annual sales of around $40 million, as reported by Business of Fashion.

In addition to funding challenges, the company also saw turnover among its executives. In February of last year, the company announced that Pamela Catlett, a veteran of Nike and Under Armour, had joined as president and chief operating officer. She left the company less than 6 months later, according to her LinkedIn page. The former longtime J.Crew CEO Mickey Drexler, a company investor, became chairman of Outdoor Voices’ board in 2017, but stepped down from this role in mid-2019, according to Business of Fashion.

A company spokesperson said that Outdoor Voices had raised another round of financing from its current investor group to support its growth and expansion moving forward.
