Effective March 1, 2021, Schulten will take the Chief Financial Officer role off the hands of Jon Moeller, who currently holds both the Chief Operating Officer and CFO titles. Moeller will continue on as the consumer goods company’s COO.
A graduate of the University of Münster in Germany, Schulten joined P&G in April 2009 and has climbed his way through the company’s ranks. He has deep financial experience inside the company as he initially served as the Finance Manager for Global P&G Prestige before climbing into a series of increasingly senior financial roles including VP of Finance for the company’s Baby, Feminine, and Family Care business.
Schulten's experience and leadership skills will be needed to guide P&G's rapid growth, as products like home cleaning and hygiene supplies have experienced strong demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The spike in demand for cleaning and hygiene supplies helped propel the company’s latest fiscal quarter (ended September 30) to account for its largest single-quarter sales increase in 15 years. Due to this uptick in demand the company now expects sales growth of 3% to 4% during its 2021 fiscal year (ended June 30, 2021), up from its prior forecast of 1% to 3%.
