SoFi hires Aaron J. Webster as Chief Risk Officer
SoFi announced that Aaron J. Webster will join the company as Chief Risk Officer starting July 22. He will be responsible for SoFi's risk, fraud, and credit management frameworks, and will lead its credit risk and underwriting activities. Webster joins SoFi from Citigroup, where he was Chief Risk Officer for its U.S. Retail Bank and Mortgage business and led Global Regulatory Analytics.
SoFi has lost several high profile executives since Anthony Noto took over as CEO in January of last year. Marketing Chief Joanne Bradford, Head of Risk Kevin Moss, and Ashish Jain, the lender’s top capital markets executive, have all left the company. SoFi’s founder, Mike Cagney, was forced to resign following a sexual harassment lawsuit in September 2017.
Noto said in a statement: "Aaron brings critical expertise in risk, fraud, and credit that align perfectly to the products we have today and the ones on our roadmap. He's also a strong leader and culture carrier who can help us continue to build the next great consumer financial services company. We're thrilled he's joining SoFi."
