Ravi Mehta has joined Tinder as Chief Product Officer, a position vacated by Brian Norgaard who left the company in November 2018. Mehta has more than 20 years of experience building products and was most recently Product Director for Youth Engagement at Facebook.
Tinder's parent company, Match Group, recently acquired Hinge which is a dating app that targets a more mature audience. This frees up Tinder to focus on the younger demographic and here Mehta will play an important role. At Facebook, Mehta spearheaded efforts to understand how Gen Z spends their time online and identified key product opportunities for this demographic. His work was integral to the development of video features - including the launch of Lasso, a new short-form video app, the launch of Facebook Polls and defining the team's M&A strategy.
In a statment, Mehta said: "Tinder is one of the rare products that's had a fundamental impact on how people around the world meet and connect. And there's so much more to do. I'm looking forward to joining Elie's team and hitting the ground running."
Mehta is the latest of several senior leadership hires at Tinder, spanning Marketing, Finance & Analytics and Engineering.
