Waymo hires Becky Bucich from Google Cloud as new Chief Human Resources Officer

Becky Bucich joins Waymo as Chief Human Resources Officer

Waymo, the autonomous car development company owned by Alphabet, has hired Becky Bucich as Chief Human Resources Officer. Bucich joins the company from Google Cloud where she was most recently VP of People Operations. She replaces Tawni Nazario-Cranz who left the company earlier this year.

In a statement on Medium, Waymo CEO John Krafcik, said: "As we continue to grow our team here at Waymo, we’re excited to share that Becky Bucich joins us as our Chief Human Resources Officer. Becky will lead our People efforts as we continue to grow our team, designing and enriching our employee experience for Waymonauts, and ensuring Waymo is a diverse, inspiring, and outstanding place to work."

Bucich started her career at General Electric in 2001 where she worked in a variety of HR roles before leaving for Google in 2007. At Google, she was a HR Business Partner from 2007 to 2009 and Director of People Operations from 2009 to 2015. In 2015 she moved to Google Cloud where she was most recently VP of People Operations. Google Cloud hired Thomas Kurian as CEO earlier this year.
