The 24-year old who was once dubbed Gen Z’s Jimmy Fallon and has amassed over 18 million subscribers on his youtube channel had recently raised $20 million for Dispo, his invite-only photo app, in its Series A led by Spark Capital.
His decision to step down from the company comes after an investigation by Insider reporter Kat Tenbarge which accused Dobrik’s Vlog Squad for sexual assault.
“In light of recent news about the Vlog Squad and David Dobrik, the cofounder of Dispo, we have made the decision to sever all ties with the company,” Spark Capital tweeted. “We have stepped down from our position on the board and we are in the process of making arrangements to ensure we do not profit from our recent investment in Dispo.”
Following Spark Capitals announcement, multiple sponsors, including HelloFresh and the Dollar Shave Club have also decided to sever ties with Dispo.
