Drew Houston, CEO & co-Founder of Dropbox, has joined Facebook's board of directors effective immediately. Houston is a longtime friend of Mark Zuckerberg and will likely be a supportive figure on the board as Facebook faces scrutiny.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, said: "Drew brings valuable perspective to our board as a leader of a technology company with services used by millions of people and businesses. He thinks deeply about where technology is going and how to build a culture that delivers services that always work well."

Houston replaces Susan Desmond-Hellmann, the CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who departed the board in October 2019 due to "increasing demands" from her CEO role. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and businessman Erskine Bowles left the board in April 2019.
