Meta

After 17 years at Meta, former CRO John Hegeman has departed to launch his own company. He previously led advertising systems engineering and worked on the Facebook app, and despite serving as CRO for only a year, he helped shape Meta’s global monetization strategy. Andrew Bocking will now oversee ads and business messaging, while Naomi Gleit leads business AI and new monetization as Meta faces investor pressure over its costly AI spending, with 2025 capex projected at $72 billion. Apple veteran John Giannandrea, who joined in 2018, is stepping down as SVP of Machine Learning and AI Strategy to retire in the spring of 2026, marking a strategic shift in the tech giant's critical AI focus. Amar Subramanya, previously Head of Engineering for Google's Gemini Assistant, is joining as VP of AI, reporting to Craig Federighi, to lead key areas like Apple Foundation Models and AI Safety. OpenAI is facing scrutiny and lawsuits over how its models respond to users in mental distress, including cases involving suicidal ideation. Andrea Vallone, who led model policy work on emotional-distress responses, is leaving the company amid these challenges. DevSecOps leader GitLab has appointed Jessica Ross as its new CFO, effective January 15, 2026. Ross brings extensive leadership experience from her time at Salesforce and Frontdoor, positioning her well for the role. After 18 years at Paramount, John Halley—who served as COO of advertising revenue before becoming president of advertising in 2022—is departing the company. During his tenure, he oversaw meaningful growth, including the launch of EyeQ, Paramount’s multi-billion-dollar premium video ads marketplace. His exit comes as the company navigates the $8 billion Skydance merger and transitions ad leadership to former Roku sales chief Jay Askinasi, who was recently hired as CRO. Read More

Expedia Group signals its growth focus by appointing Xavier Amatriain as its first Chief AI and Data Officer. South Korean consumer electronics giant LG Electronics has named Lyu Jae-cheol as its new CEO, effective December 1, 2025. Lyu brings significant experience, having led the successful Home Appliance Solution Company since 2021.
