JPMorgan Chase announced that Leslie Gillin will be its new chief marketing officer, overseeing the Chase, JPMorgan and corporate brands. She succeeds Kristin Lemkau who was JPMorgan’s CMO since 2014.
Last month, Lemkau was named chief executive of JPMorgan’s new U.S. wealth management business. The new division was created to better position JPMorgan against its rival big banks, and combines its U.S. wealth management operations for affluent clients, the Chase branch network’s financial advisory business and its You Invest online brokerage.
Gillin joined Chase three years ago, most recently as president of its co-brand credit cards business. Her 25-year career in marketing, product and business development includes serving as CMO of Citi’s global consumer bank and in various marketing roles at Bank of America and MBNA. Chase’s co-brand card portfolio had strong growth in revenue, outstandings and new cardmembers under Gillin’s leadership said Gordon Smith, co-president and chief operating officer for JPMorgan.
“I’m confident that her knowledge, energy and creativity will now serve the whole firm and all our customers very well,” Smith said in a statement.
