Salovaara, who first joined the fintech venture in January 2021, now leads Revolut’s global finance function and works with CEO and Founder Nik Storonsky to strengthen financial processes, systems, and controls. He is also in charge of optimizing the company’s capital structure and allocation with the aim of delivering sustainable growth.
“I'm very pleased to welcome Mikko Salovaara as our Chief Financial Officer,” Storonsky stated. “Mikko has a strong track record in building resilient financial teams and processes in global consumer facing industries and is focused on building out our global capabilities as we address the next phase of our growth.”
Before taking on the CFO role, Salovaara served as the neo bank’s VP of Finance. Prior to that, he spent five years with 3G Capital, including three years at portfolio company Kraft Heinz, where he was the CFO of Kraft Heinz China, Kraft Heinz APAC, and Kraft Heinz US. The Yale graduate also spent time at Elliott Advisors (UK), where he focused on public and private market strategies.
Salovaara commented that he is “humbled by the opportunity to help achieve our ambition of becoming a global bank."

Currently, the bank has over 15 million global customers around the world who are using Revolut’s products to make more than 100 million transactions a month.
