This week, Uber got a new CTO, Uber’s CIO moved to Peloton, Shopify’s COO became the President, and Ford appointed a new Chief Executive. Read more about this and other notable executive changes.


Sukumar Rathnam was hired as the Chief Technology Officer of Uber on Monday, filling a gap left by the departure of former CTO Thuan Pham in April. Rathnam previously worked at Amazon, where he served as Vice President of product selection and catalog systems.


Shobhana Ahluwalia became the Chief Information Officer of Peloton on Monday, taking over from Co-Founder Yony Feng, who will continue to serve as the company’s CTO. Ahluwalia previously served as CIO at Uber.


Rhonda Ferguson took over as General Counsel of Allstate on Monday, taking over from Susie Lees who is retiring in 2020, but is continuing as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary until then. Ferguson joined Allstate from Union Pacific Railroad, where she served as Chief Legal Officer.

Principal Financial

Ken McCullum took over as Chief Risk Officer on Monday, from Julia Lawler who retired after 36 years with Principal Financial. McCullum served as the firm’s Chief Actuary for the past five years, having joined from Delaware Life Insurance Company.

Boeing Company

Ed Dandridge became the Chief Communications Officer at Boeing on Monday, taking over from Greg Smith, who has served as interim CCO since July, in addition to his roles as CFO and EVP of Enterprise Operations. Dandridge joins Boeing from AIG, where he was global Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.

London Stock Exchange

Brigitte Trafford joined the London Stock Exchange as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer on Monday, in a newly created role. Trafford was previously Chief Corporate Affairs officer at Virgin Media.


Two internal staff members were promoted to executive roles at Splunk on Monday. John Sabino was promoted from SVP, Customer Success, to Chief Customer Officer, while Christian Smith was promoted from SVP Global Sales, to Chief Revenue Officer.

Pacific Biosciences

Susan G. Kim was appointed to the role of CFO at Pacific Bio on Monday. Kim most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for App Annie and Katerra.

Penske Media Corporation

Mike Monroe joined Penske Media as its new Chief Marketing Officer and Head of PMC Studios on Tuesday. Prior to joining PMC, Monroe served as Chief Marketing Officer for the Sundance Institute.


Shopify Chief Product Officer Craig Miller departs the company on Friday, with CEO Tobias Lütke adding the CPO role to his title. Additionally, Harley Finkelstein was promoted from Chief Operating Officer to President this week.


Gorka Sadowski became the chief strategy officer at cybersecurity company Exabeam. He previously served as a senior director and analyst at research and advisory company Gartner.

Golf Australia

James Sutherland became the CEO of Golf Australia on Thursday, succeeding Stephen Pitt who departed in February after 11 years with the company. Sutherland was previously chief executive at Cricket Australia for 17 years.

The LEGO Group

Jesper Andersen became the CFO of The Lego Group on Thursday, taking over from Marjorie Lao. Andersen joins LEGO from plant-based food company Upfield, where he served as CFO.

Rio Tinto

Peter Toth became Group Executive, Strategy and Development at Rio Tinto on Thursday, in a new role for the mining company. Stephen McIntosh, Group Executive of Growth & Innovation and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) left the company, retiring after more than 30 years with Rio Tinto. With McIntosh’s departure, Mark Davies assumed the role of Group Executive, Safety, Technical and Projects.


Jim Hackett retired as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company on Thursday. COO Jim Farley took over the role. Farley joined Ford in 2007 as global head of Marketing and Sales.

Wells Fargo

5 new executives started at Wells Fargo on Thursday. Paula Dominick joined as Chief Compliance Officer in October. She was previously Chief Compliance Officer of Credit Suisse USA. Brian King joined as CRO for Consumer & Small Business Banking. He was previously CRO and Head of Finance for the Consumer Business at Goldman Sachs. Ellen Koebler joined as CRO for Commercial Banking. He was previously Deputy CRO at Truist. Prasanna Someshwar joined as CRO for Wealth & Investment Management. She was previously CRO and Chief Credit Officer for Wealth Management/Private Bank at JPMorgan Chase. Jeff Colson joined as CRO for Finance. He was previously Head of Capital Management at Wells Fargo.


Magnus Örnberg joined SAS as Chief Financial Officer on Thursday, taking over from Torbjørn Wist who left SAS in September to become CFO at Wallenius Wilhelmsen in Norway. Örnberg previously served as CFO for the Saab AB defence and security group.


John Rim became Chief Financial Officer of technology company Quarterhill on Thursday. He was previously Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer at Canadian technology company Bitfarms.

Fusion Pharmaceuticals

Maria Stahl started at clinical-stage oncology company Fusion Pharmaceuticals as Chief Legal Officer on Thursday. She was previously Chief Business Officer and General Counsel at Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals.
