MetLife expands leadership team with new Head of Global Technology and Operations
MetLife has appointed Bill Pappas as Head of Global Technology and Operations, effective November 19, 2019. Pappas joins MetLife from Bank of America, where he was the head of operations for the consumer, small business, wealth management and private banking businesses. Pappas was chosen as one of Bank Systems & Technology’s “Elite 8” as a CIO who embraces change and innovation to achieve competitive distinction.
President and Chief Executive Officer Michel Khalaf said: “With his vast experience leading technology and operations at the highest levels of the financial services industry, Bill will be a valuable addition to our leadership team. Bill is a strategic thinker who understands that to win in the marketplace we must differentiate ourselves — by delivering an outstanding customer experience, fostering a culture of innovation, and embracing operational excellence.”
Previously, Pappas was the chief information officer for Bank of America’s global wholesale banking business, head of global capital markets operations, and head of technology and operations for the Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia Pacific regions. He also served as the global treasury payment operations executive responsible for all global payment operations, based out of London. Prior to joining Bank of America, he spent seven years at General Electric Capital Services in the U.S. and Europe.
