Tesla loses yet another executive as General Counsel exits
The executive exodus at Tesla continues as its General Counsel, Dane Butswinkas, exits the company after just 2 months on the job. Butswinkas is returning to the law firm Williams & Connolly where he worked for 30 years before joining Tesla. Sources familiar with the matter cite "a poor cultural fit" and a desire to return home according to CNN. Jonathan Chang, who was most recently vice president of legal at Tesla, has taken over the general counsel position.
Lime hires its first CFO and CHRO
Lime has made two new high-profile executive hires bringing on Ted Tobiason as the company's first Chief Financial Officer and Nancy Lee as Chief Human Resources Officer. The scooter startup has recruited several notable executives in the past year including hiring Duke Stumpf away from Lululemon as Chief Marketing Officer.
GitLab bolsters executive team as it prepares to IPO
Gitlab has hired Todd Barr as Chief Marketing Officer and Michael McBride as Chief Revenue Officer. Barr joins GitLab from Red Hat where he was VP of Digital Demand according to his LinkedIn profile. McBride was previously SVP of Worldwide Field Operations at the security company Lookout.
Shake Shack hires CIO to drive eCommerce strategy
Shake Shack has announced the appointments of Dave Harr is as Chief Information Officer and Sumaiya Balbale as Board Director. Both bring significant experience in eCommerce and digital media and it could signal a more aggressive digital strategy at Shake Shack. Harris previously served as Vice President of Digital Technology at Newell Brands where he had global responsibility for the eCommerce and digital marketing technology. Sumaiya was the Vice President of eCommerce, Mobile and Digital Marketing for Walmart US from January 2017 to February 2019.
Levi's names Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer
Katia Walsh will join the Levi Strauss & Co. as senior vice president and chief strategy and artificial intelligence officer, effective April 29, 2019. Walsh will be responsible for building the data, analytics and artificial intelligence enablers to support the company's global business across innovation incubation, new business models and strategic growth initiatives.
