Tommy Hilfiger Transitions to New CEO

Clothing company PVH announced that it has appointed Martijn Hagman as the new CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe. He replaces Daniel Grieder, who is stepping down from the top spot after 23 years at the company to pursue other interests.

Grieder will transition his responsibilities to Hagman over the next few months.

As the global head of Tommy Hilfiger will continue to execute on the company’s current strategic plan and focus on guiding the company as it recovers from the coronavirus pandemic

Hagman has held multiple positions on Tommy Hilfiger’s leadership team over the last 12 years, including stints as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Tommy Hilfiger in 2008, Hagman worked in EY’s International Audit practice for 10 years.

In a press release, PVH President Stefan Larsson said, “I have great confidence in Martijn as a leader with a deep understanding of the underlying value drivers of the business. His consumer-centric mindset and digitally focused leadership will successfully guide the next era of sustainable and profitable growth for Tommy Hilfiger and the European region.”

Hagman stated, “It is an honor to continue to build on the achievements of the Tommy Hilfiger brand and PVH Europe alongside an exceptional and passionate management team. My thanks to Daniel extend well beyond the unwavering support, development opportunities and leadership he has provided over the years.”

Last month, PVH reopened 180 stores, including Tommy Hilfiger locations, in North America as measures aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus are eased. The corporation has also reopened 350 stores in Europe. Additionally, Tommy Hilfiger has committed to donating over 10,000 classic white T-shirts to support public health efforts in Europe and the United States.
