Alice Chen

Research Scientist at 23andMe

Alice Chen obtained her B.S. of Biology from Caltech and Ph.D. in Neurosciences from Stanford University. She decided to pursue a career in drug development and has been working in biotech/pharmaceutical industry for 16 years. She worked for 8 years in Genomics Institute of Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) in San Diego, where she worked on many small molecule drug discovery projects and was the G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) platform leader. She then worked in NGM Biopharmaceutics in South San Francisco for 5 years developing biologics drugs for cardiometabolic diseases. She joined 23andMe in July 2015 as the 4th founding member of the newly formed therapeutics group aiming to leverage 23andMe’s human genetic data towards drug discovery.
