Joseph R. Arron

Joseph R. Arron is the current Chief Scientific Officer at 23andMe. Prior to their current position, Dr. Arron was a Vice President at Genentech from January 2006 to November 2021, where they led the immunology research department. Dr. Arron has also worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University from January 2003 to December 2006. Joseph is a highly accomplished scientist with a wealth of experience in the field of immunology.

Joseph R. Arron received an AB in Chemistry from Princeton University, followed by a postdoc in Developmental Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Joseph then attended Cornell University for their MD, and finally The Rockefeller University for their PhD in Immunology.

They work with L. Okey Onyejekwe - VP, Healthcare Operations & Medical Affairs, Savita Pillai - VP, People, and Jon Ward - CMO. Joseph R. Arron reports to Anne Wojcicki, CEO & Co-Founder.
