Trent Basarsky

Trent Basarsky has a diverse work experience in corporate development and management roles. Trent is currently the VP of Corporate Development at 908 Devices, a position they have held since December 2020. Prior to that, they served as the VP and GM of Commercial at 908 Devices from January 2017 to December 2020.

Before joining 908 Devices, Trent worked as the Chief Business Officer at Zephyrus Biosciences from October 2015 to March 2016. Trent was responsible for the development of a single-cell western platform before the company was acquired in 2016.

From October 2009 to September 2014, Trent served as the Vice President of Corporate Development at ProteinSimple, where they oversaw corporate development, marketing, and intellectual property activities related to protein analysis instrumentation. ProteinSimple was acquired in 2014.

Prior to that, Trent held the role of Director of Corporate Development at Codexis from July 2008 to October 2009 and worked as an Independent Sports Technology Entrepreneur from September 2007 to June 2008.

Their earlier experiences include working as the Director of Corporate and Business Development at Molecular Devices from 2004 to 2007, where they focused on acquisitions, licensing, and business strategy for life science tools. Additionally, Trent held various roles at Axon Instruments, including Director of Intellectual Property and Licensing from 2001 to 2004 and Product Line Manager for Genomics & Bioinformatics from 1998 to 2001. Axon Instruments was acquired in 2004.

Trent Basarsky completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology & Cell Biology at the University of Alberta from 1986 to 1990. Trent then pursued further education at Iowa State University, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Neuroscience from 1990 to 1995. Following that, Trent attended the University of Calgary as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroscience from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, they attended Augustana from 1985 to 1987, although the specific field of study during that time is not provided.
