James Burns

James Burns is a Senior Product Manager at 99designs. Prior to their current role, James worked as a Product Lead at Telstra Health from June 2017 to February 2021. In this role, James was responsible for overseeing the development of Community Connect, a next-generation product for the Australian aged disability and community care market.

As a founding member of the Community Connect team, James played a pivotal role in defining the scope and features of the product. Through continuous discovery and stakeholder engagement, James and their team were able to identify needs and problems within the aged disability and community care market, and develop innovative solutions that leveraged clever design and advanced technology.

James is proud to have built a high-performing, cross-functional team of people who are leaders in their respective fields. James is inspired by designers such as Patricia Moore, who believe that improving the dignity of all people is ultimately a matter of good design. Improving the quality of life through design is at the core of James' work and they are committed to continuing this mission in their role as Senior Product Manager at 99designs.

James Burns has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the Academy of Design Australia. James also has a certification in Agile Business Analysis from Software Education and is currently a Product Manager at General Assembly.
