Nethmal Warusamana

Nethmal Warusamana has a strong background in software engineering. Nethmal is currently employed at 99x as a Senior Software Engineer, where they have been working since July 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Software Engineer at the same company, starting in August 2020 and continuing until July 2022. In this position, they gained experience in designing and implementing an Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, focusing on the Scandinavian region. Nethmal conducted extensive research and utilized machine learning and image processing techniques to successfully develop a custom image processing pipeline for number plates affected by bad weather conditions and other obscurities. Before joining 99x, Nethmal had an internship at Creative Software in 2019, where they gained additional experience in software engineering.

Nethmal Warusamana completed their primary education at Kg/ Kegalu M.V from 2006 to 2014, focusing on mathematics. Nethmal then pursued higher education at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya from 2015 to 2020, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a specialization in Computer Engineering. In August 2020, they also obtained a certification in "AWS Fundamentals: Going Cloud-Native" from Coursera.
