Martijn Tans

Martijn Tans serves as the Directeur Group Risk Management at a.s.r. since July 2023, focusing on second line management of operational, financial, and actuarial risks, as well as model validation and methodology development. Prior to this role, Tans was the Head of Risk Management at Aegon Nederland from January 2014 to June 2023, overseeing financial and operational risk management and serving as the SII Risk Function Holder. Tans held multiple positions at Aegon, including Director ALM & Methodology, where responsibilities included asset-liability management and model development, and Project Manager for a longevity hedge initiative. Tans’ career also includes leadership roles in marketing, product development, and quantitative research at Aegon and Robeco, complemented by a strong academic background with a Master's degree in Econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
