Eugene Strauss is currently the Managing Executive (CEO) of Absa Group’s Life insurance businesses, bringing significant experience from various roles within the Financial Services industry. Previously, Eugene served as CFO for Wealth, Investment Management and Insurance at Barclays Africa Group Limited and held financial management positions at Absa Life Limited, Liberty Group Limited, and Rentmeester Assurance Ltd. Eugene's educational background includes a B.Com and B.Com (Honours) in Accounting from the University of Pretoria, a Specialist Diploma in Auditing from RAU and the University of Cape Town, and a Master's in Strategy and Innovation from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Eugene is also a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, holding the designation of Chartered Accountant (SA).
