Jan Thunnissen

Jan Thunnissen is an experienced engineering professional with a robust background in the automotive industry. Currently serving as Executive Director of Engineering Seat Structures and Mechanism at Adient since November 2016, Jan has previously held multiple executive director roles at Johnson Controls from November 1997 to November 2016, focusing on engineering leadership. Early career experience includes work as a Research Associate in injury biomechanics and vehicle occupant crash simulation at TNO from January 1993 to November 1997. Jan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Twente and an Engineer’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from HAN University of Applied Sciences. Educational background also includes attendance at Middelbaar technische school Arnhem.
