Umashankar Sivakumar

Umashankar Sivakumar is a Software System Designer 2 at AMD since August 2021, previously holding the position of Software System Designer 1, where analysis and profiling of AVX512 extensions on GROMACS were conducted to enhance performance on AMD 4th Generation EPYC Processors. Prior to AMD, Umashankar served as an HPC/AI Research Intern at NVIDIA from January 2020 to July 2021, successfully performing performance and scaling analysis on the DFT-FE codebase utilizing the Param Siddhi Cluster with NVIDIA DGX A100 GPUs, achieving a 2x performance increase over DGX V100 GPUs. Umashankar is currently pursuing a Master of Science in High Performance Computing at The University of Edinburgh, following a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from PES University and a High School Diploma from BGS National Public School, India.
