Shafqat Akbar

Shafqat Akbar is a seasoned Project Manager with extensive experience in civil engineering and infrastructure projects across various companies. Currently at AECOM since October 2021, Shafqat manages the Diriyah DSQ1 project in Riyadh and has previously contributed to the NEOM development project in the Mountain Region (Trojena). Prior roles include Project Manager at Interserve, overseeing projects under the Northumbria Water AMP6 & AMP7 frameworks, and managing civils and MEICA works at APK. Shafqat also worked on the Birmingham Resilience Project at North Midland Construction PLC and engaged in infrastructure projects in Qatar while at WSP. With a solid foundation at Balfour Beatty and other notable firms, Shafqat holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor's degree in Construction from Sheffield Hallam University.
