Ivo Petrov

Former Director at Cargill & Portfolio Manager at BlackRiver.

Starting in 1996 at Cargill in Geneva, Ivo held various senior positions within the company over the next 18 years ranging from Senior Trader to Global Trading Manager, Convergence Trading Unit Leader and Director with Risk, Trading, Strategy, Supply-chain and General Management roles across a diverse set of businesses in the commodity space - from Grains and Oilseeds to Sugar, Energy and Metals. In-between Ivo also spent a year as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Black River Asset Management. In his years at Cargill, Ivo ran, built and lead trading teams and businesses that generated revenues in the billions with net profits running into the hundreds of millions of dollars p.a. setting benchmarks and company records across a number of verticals. In 2014 Ivo joined Bunge’s Special Risk Unit where he was co-responsible for proprietary Trading and Risk Management in the Agricultural space. In 2016 Ivo left Bunge to pursue full-time his real passion in creating, investing in and helping build companies with primary focus on Food, Agriculture and Frontier Technologies. He is currently a Lead Investor, Board Member and Strategic Advisor to a number of startup companies as well as established names
