Shawn Kvernen

Shawn Kvernen, Senior Vice President of Development, is based in San Antonio, TX and is responsible for acquisitions, new developments, and assisting clients in identifying value-added opportunities in the Central United States.

Prior to Aimbridge, Shawn was Terrapin Hospitality’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s fast-growing portfolio of 80 hotels nationally. He had direct oversight over the company’s operating functions including new business development. Prior to Terrapin, Shawn was the Chief Operating Officer and a Principal at KPartners Hospitality, a San Antonio-based management company. In the fall of 2021, he spearheaded the sale of KPartners to Terrapin, while also agreeing to join Terrapin’s senior management team. During his fifteen-year tenure at KPartners Hospitality Shawn advanced through roles including General Manager, Area General Manager, Regional VP of Operations, and VP of Operations. During that time Shawn was instrumental in growing the platform from four managed hotels to 35 managed hotels. Prior to KPartners Hospitality Shawn was with Sage Hospitality for ten years at various properties serving as the Food and Beverage Director and/or the General Manager.
