Parimal Pandya

Parimal Pandya is Managing Director, Asia Pacific & Japan, and Vice President of Sales for the region. He is responsible for driving Akamai’s growth and expansion across 14 countries in the region.

Pandya joined Akamai in 2003 and has held roles in product management, marketing, sales and business development. He has led the launch of new businesses inside Akamai, managed turnarounds and driven expansion of Akamai's presence in the fastest growing markets in the world.

He began as a product manager at Akamai's Cambridge office and led the launch of Akamai's Web Performance product line bringing several industry leading products to market. In 2009, he moved to Bangalore, India and played a critical role in the expansion of the company’s India business and led go-to-market operations responsible for Akamai's mid-market customers globally. In 2013 he took on go-to-market responsibilities for Greater China and Korea and laid the foundation for Akamai's expansion in these markets by opening new offices in Seoul, Hong Kong and Beijing. In 2016, he became the leader of Akamai's Media and Carrier business for Asia Pacific and Japan. As a leader, he has championed teams that have delivered world record breaking sporting events online, overseen the growth of the largest social media and gaming platforms in the world, delivered key partnerships with major telecommunications operators and established Akamai as the trusted partner of choice with some of the world's leading technology companies.

Before joining Akamai, Pandya started and ran an e-commerce venture in New York City, followed by a stint in venture capital. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York.
