Dieter Schmitt

Dieter Schmitt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategic management and procurement. Currently serving as the Strategy Development Manager at Alken-Maes since June 2022, Dieter leads the coordination and delivery of key strategic initiatives to support the organization’s long-term goals. Previously, as the Head of Indirect Procurement for Hilti Group in Western Europe from September 2016 to June 2022, Dieter developed procurement strategies, delivered value-enhancing projects, and fostered team development across multiple countries. Earlier roles include Head of Controlling & Purchasing for Hilti BeLux, where financial management and supplier negotiations were prioritized, and a Business Analyst at XPO Logistics Europe, where financial reporting and operational support were key responsibilities. Dieter began a career in auditing as a Senior Auditor at EY, focusing on external audit services for Belgian companies. Dieter holds a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering from Ghent University, graduating Cum Laude.
