Venture Partner at Alsop Louie Partners

Corey Reese is a Venture Partner. Corey is currently co-founder and COO of Wholesail, a trading network that modernizes payment and communication between wholesale sellers and buyers which he co-founded with former ALP associate, Eli Chait.

Most recently Corey was a Director of Product Management at OpenTable, where he was responsible for its Marketplace Products Group, which included its data science, search, recommendation, advertising and loyalty product teams. Corey joined OpenTable in 2014 through the acquisition of Ness Computing, a startup that built a machine learning based recommendation engine for restaurants, where he was co-founder and CEO. During his time at Ness, he was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.

Corey met Stewart and Gilman while he was a senior at UC Berkeley in 2006 and was looking to raise his own university focused venture capital fund. Corey decided to join Stewart and Gilman, and during his three years with the firm he sourced several investments, including Gowalla and Twitch, and recruited the initial group of campus associates from Berkeley, Stanford, and MIT. Corey and his co-founders incubated Ness Computing at the Alsop Louie Partners office before raising additional capital from Khosla Ventures, SingTel, American Express and NTT DoCoMo.

His personal and investment interests lie in products that deliver exceptional user experiences, disruptive technologies, and single origin coffee. Corey is a native of Silicon Valley and a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
