Carlos Mejia

Carlos Mejia is currently a Partner, COO, and Investment Advisory at Alvarium. Prior to this, they worked as a Route To Consumer Project Manager, Caribbean & Central America for Diageo from May 2011 to November 2016. There, they led and supported a multi-work stream team in transition of Diageo’s Jamaican operation from a Company-owned affiliate to a third party producer and distributor for Diageo products after $781m sale to Heineken. Some of their selected accomplishments include effectively negotiating production and distribution agreements with Heineken as well as transforming Diageo’s Route To Market (“RTM”) in the Dominican Republic through a change in distributor.

Before their time at Diageo, Carlos Mejia was the Chief Financial Officer & Shareholder at Eberjey from September 2003 to May 2011. At Eberjey, they directed the finance, strategy, and production departments of the leading private U.S. intimate apparel company. During their time there, they accomplished increasing revenue and EBITDA by double and six-fold respectively after joining the company. In addition, they led an initiative to take production off-shore which resulted in a 10% gross margin improvement and increased asset-backed borrowing 16x to improve liquidity, provide flexibility and enable growth.

Carlos Mejia studied International Relations and Affairs / Economics at Brown University and then went on to study Entrepreneurial Management at The Wharton School, completing their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
