Swami Sivasubramanian is the Vice President of Database, Analytics & Machine Learning for AWS.


Sivasubramanian has built several large scale systems including Amazon Dynamo and DynamoDB, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon RDS, Amazon ElastiCache, Amazon's core Paxos infra, and Amazon SNS Mobile Push. Swami is one of the main authors of Amazon Dynamo paper (along with Werner Vogels) that was published in SOSP 2007 and became the foundation of several other NoSQL stores.


Swami Sivasubramanian has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, and a B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai.
